Full colour “Zeitgeist #1” signed prints!

The last Instantaneous was a ripping success and it was great to see such furious bidding. My piece, (originally titled “The Dumbest Thing I’ve Drawn Since I Was Fourteen”, but, um, shortened to “Comics Zeitgeist”) got lots of hands in the air. In the end only one wallet was big enough. Whoever the winning bidder was, I thank them for making the auction’s charity, and my ego, more robust.

Giddy with the response and the desire to paint the heroine’s knickers, signed giclee prints of a colour version have been made available.

Prints are 280mm x 400mm on 280 gsm archival photo paper, individually signed. $40 direct (contact me via e-mail to arrange purchase and delivery) or $50 postpaid. (AU$55 for International orders.)

If you’re anywhere near Adelaide on Tuesday May 4, head over to the Grace Emily Hotel, 232 Waymouth Street from 6:30pm for the opening of Instantaneous 6. Organized by Pulp Fiction Comics, Instantaneous is an exhibition and auction of work from Adelaide’s keenest comics creators with all profits going to a worthy charity. (It’s taken 5 of them before I finally lined up the ducks and put together a piece.) Get to The Grace to see more than this little teaser portion and place your bids. Booktalkers

Booktalkers is the name of an event being held next week at the State Library of Victoria. It’s a “Meet the authors” kind of night, and the authors one can meet are Ben Beaton, Karen Healey, Captain Congo writer Ruth Starke, and me; an illustrator all by his lonesome. So I won’t feel like too much of a gooseberry, comics publisher and impressario Bernard Caleo will be there to keep me “in conversation”, rather than just being quiet and scribbling in the corner.
