Booktalkers is the name of an event being held next week at the State Library of Victoria. It’s a “Meet the authors” kind of night, and the authors one can meet are Ben Beaton, Karen Healey, Captain Congo writer Ruth Starke, and me; an illustrator all by his lonesome. So I won’t feel like too much of a gooseberry, comics publisher and impressario Bernard Caleo will be there to keep me “in conversation”, rather than just being quiet and scribbling in the corner.
